Congratulations to 2013 Mar-Del Watermelon Queen

Chelsey Procino

 

The new 2013 Mar-Del Watermelon Queen is Chelsey Procino.  Chelsey is the 20 year old daughter of Mike and Patty Procino from Seaford, Delaware.  Chelsey is a student of Delaware Technical and Community College majoring in Nursing.  She is employed part time by BMG Modeling Agency and is a Part time Office Assistant at her family business, Procino Plating. 

Chelsey’s accomplishments are First Team All-Conference 2007-2008, Second Team All-Conference 2009-2010 and First Team All-Conference 2010-2011 for competitive swimming. In 2007 she received the John Hollis Award for dedication, leadership and being a great role model and in 2008 she received the Arnold Smart Award for Loyalty, Leadership and being a great Role Model.   In 2008 she became a Delaware Youth Leaders of America graduate for leadership and etiquette training. 

Chelsey’s hobbies include spending time with friends and family, modeling in NY, staying fit by attending the gym regularly, water sports, snow skiing, traveling and shopping. 

Her plans for the future include becoming a nurse practitioner in the medical field of dermatology.  After a firm foundation is established in her medical career she would like to settle down and have a family.

Our Queen is chosen during our Annual Convention each February, for service through the following January.  Rules and application for the 2013 Queen competition will be available in December.

The Mar-Del Watermelon Queen is our Association's representative at local, regional and national events.  Her duties include educating the public on the health benefits of watermelon, and promoting the importance of supporting our local watermelon farmers. 

She is available throughout the year for public engagements, and requests for our Queen's participation in an event are organized through our Queen Coordinator
